Guy Laroche

Guy Laroche was an important French designer, creator of one of the most important fashion houses, who died in 1989.
At the beginning of his career, the designer collaborated with other famous fashion professionals, such as Jean Desses, until, a few years later, the designer opened his own fashion atelier in Paris.

Guy Laroche's style was immediately characterized by the creation of refined and extravagant models. During the early years he even designed an elegant sportswear collection for the American market, and in 1961 he opened a boutique on Avenue Montaigne, the reference point of French fashion.
Today, the designer is best known for his perfumes " Drakkar " launched on the market in 1972, J\'ai Ôse (in 1977), and Drakkar noir, in 1982.
Before 1972, however, Gay Laroche launched other prestigious perfumes, namely the fragrances of the "Fidji" line. Starting in 1977, the designer therefore began the production of very well-known fragrances, such as Drakkar Noir, Clandestine and Horizon, all prestigious perfumes with an unparalleled olfactory formula.
The perfumes of the Drakkar line include a great variety of fragrances , among which the following stand out in particular:

- Drakkar essence (eau de toilette)
- Black Drakkar
- Drakkar for men
- Drakkar Dynamic

Drakkar noir, in particular, can be considered the perfume of the 80s.
The Drakkar Noir fragrance contains intense aromatic notes, precisely because Guy Laroche, before launching the product on the market, wanted to create a provocative perfume, not only in the olfactory formula but also in the design, to meet the needs of the most demanding men .
The olfactory "flavor" of Drakkar Noir is mysterious and intriguing, precisely because it is characterized by spicy notes such as coriander and cinnamon. The base notes are very woody, the perfume contains significant olfactory notes of lavender, verbena and basil and the characteristic notes are the following: - citrus - spicy berries and sandalwood It is an aromatic fragrance, capable of involving the senses thanks to the perfect combination of its ingredients. On sale you can also find gift packs of the Guy Laroche line, composed of the eau de toilette, shower gel and deodorant (you can also find the spray version).

Guy Laroche's Drakkar Dynamik, on the other hand, is an eau de toilette in spray version, whose prevalent text notes are grapefruit, "Granny Smith" apple and pink pepper, while the base notes are amber, sandalwood and benzoin. The other two known lines of the famous designer are finally Clandestine and Horizon.
Clandestine by Laroche is a feminine fragrance, with honeyed, fruity and honeyed accords, whose main top notes are pineapple, plum, bergamot and cassia, while the heart notes are mainly iris, carnation, honey, jasmine and Damascus rose (the fragrance has very varied base notes, with amber, vanilla, musk, cedar and other refined formulas).
L'Horizon is a men's fragrance, whose main accords are floral, spicy, aromatic and woody (it is a cologne belonging to the "Green Aromatic group" of the men's line, whose top notes are mandarin, cassia, bergamot, lavender, mint, artemisia and others, while the more intense heart notes are represented by cyclamen, jasmine, geranium, carnation and other plants with an intense scent).
