Hollister is a fashion brand owned by Abercrombie & Fitch, initially aimed at the 14 to 18 age group. Its products are inspired by the Southern California environment and in particular by the figure of surfers .

The first Hollister store opened in July 2000, in America. The feature that all the stores have in common is the particular facade , similar to that of Californian huts. Inside there are lamps aimed only at the clothes and perfume is sprayed in the air. The music at a fairly high volume is chosen from an American playlist. The salesmen and saleswomen are selected based on their physical appearance, which must reflect the stereotype of the handsome and athletic young Californian. They only wear beach clothes, in reference to the surf theme.
