LACOSTE
LACOSTE
Lacoste is a brand founded by French tennis legend René Lacoste, four-time international champion and best player in the world in 1926. The Lacoste brand draws inspiration from sporting values of high standards, fair play and boldness .
The Lacoste story begins when René brought a flexible, lightweight cotton polo shirt to the court, replacing the standard shirts imposed on tennis players. The polo was so successful that in 1933, he founded the brand, with the crocodile logo.
In the 1950s, Lacoste clothing began to be exported worldwide. With the development of a children's line, the brand became a transgenerational icon . Beyond its products, Lacoste is also characterized by a sporting spirit that continues to guide the brand's choices today, both in its collections and in its commitment to society and sustainability . Its goal is to exalt elegance in order to create a more inclusive, tolerant, and connected society.
In the late 1960s, Lacoste entered the world of fragrance with its first Eau de Toilette , in collaboration with French designer and perfumer Jean Patou. This was followed by other fragrances, including the L.12.12 line, a range of women's and men's perfumes inspired by the color and style of Lacoste polo shirts. With the L' Homme Lacoste line, the brand extols masculine elegance with notes and scents that never go unnoticed.
Over time, Lacoste production has expanded to also produce bags, shoes and accessories.
