Mavala is a brand known today throughout the world as a synonym for quality and high-performance cosmetics. Mavala was born in Geneva in 1958, thanks to the revolutionary idea of Madame Madeleine Van Landeghem (from whose initials the name of the agency itself will derive), who introduced Scientifique to the cosmetics field, a revolutionary nail hardener, formulated to treat flaking and splitting of the nail plate. It was so successful that it remains one of the brand's best-selling products to this day. A few years later, Mavala opened the first professional nail school in London and then began working closely with more than thirty French beauty schools, which still use Mavala products and manicure techniques as part of their curriculum, so much so that Mavala professionals are responsible for training and curriculum exams. Today, Mavala is distributed in 120 countries around the world, in department stores, cosmetics shops, perfumeries, pharmacies, beauty salons and spas. However, despite having a strong international scope, Mavala is deeply rooted in Switzerland as regards the development and production of its products: all, in fact, are formulated and produced in Geneva to guarantee the highest standards of quality and effectiveness. Starting out as one of the most prestigious and attentive brands in nail care and treatment, it has not forgotten its origins and, despite having differentiated itself by also specialising in skin care and make-up products, it still remains the most extensive brand in the nail care market. Mavala is particularly known for its Minis: nail polishes in small 5 ml bottles. Other top products are the Cuticle Cream, the Cuticle Oil and Mavala 002, a protective base that both prevents yellowing of the nails and prolongs the manicure. Since 1986, Mavala has also been able to offer a specific range of products for everyday use based on active ingredients that had never been used before in hand care. Finally, the eye care range includes products specially developed for perfect eye contours and long eyelashes, such as Double-Lash, the company's flagship.
