Marquetry is the art of combining tiny pieces of ivory and semiprecious stones, fragments of mother-of-pearl and fragrant tiles of ebony and rosewood, splinters of sidereal metals and sheets of lacquer that from time to time compose incredible and highly elaborate designs on tabourets, chests and jewels. The top notes are bergamot, lavender and peach. Heart notes are rose, galbanum, tonka bean and Peru balsam. Base notes are vanilla, labdanum, amber, musk and coumarin.
